Safeguarding – Team Members
Thank you so much for volunteering to be part of the Team for Detonate. We hope it will be an uplifting week for both the volunteers and the children attending.
It is essential that everyone over 16 years old has an in-date DBS certificate, if you do not please complete the Self Declaration Form (DBS Self-Declaration Form) and return it as soon as possible to: Judith Palfreman (Safeguarding Officer) / John Martin (Deputy Safeguarding Officer), St Andrew’s Church, 37 Quickley Lane, Chorleywood, WD3 5AE
Meanwhile, to ensure the safety of all the children attending Detonate it is VERY IMPORTANT that everyone completes the relevant Safeguarding Training:
All team aged 18 years and over by the first day of the Detonate week should complete the modules C0 ‘Basic Awareness’ and C1 ‘Foundations’ and send the completed certificates to team.admin@detonate.org.uk putting your full name in the title of the email
(Note: if you are updating your Foundations certificate, you do not need to do Basic Awareness again).
Please click on the link below to access the training portal. If you have not accessed the site before you will need to set up an account. Then log into the site, select [Courses], [Core Pathways], [Basic Awareness & Foundations] and complete both courses. Home | Safeguarding: Training Portal (cofeportal.org)
All team aged 16 – 17 years by the first day of Detonate should do C0 Basic Awareness course.
Team aged 13 – 18 and are encouraged to attend a training session close to Detonate (date to be announced). This will be an opportunity to meet other young volunteers and to receive age-appropriate training based on the Foundations module.
Thank you so much, your help is so valuable and we couldn’t do it without you! Feel free to encourage other friends/family to volunteer, the more group helpers we have the more children we can accommodate from our waiting list. Joining The Team – Detonate
